If there would be cvilization with advanced camera-type eyes like vertebrates and cephalopods have (evolved twice independently on Earth), they would certianly call this planet The Eye. It even blinks, however "pupil" is still visible under closed "eylids".
I dont think this world need to be so unique. It needs only great catastrophe long ago.
